Originally called “The Survivor” the Refugee background was an idea to give bit more meaning to the survival skill and to build some sort of positive out of the many tragic backstories out in a D&D or table top setting world. In past games and from the tales of others I struggled to find a large use of the Survival skill. The background I offer makes the skill a bit more useful when discussing survival and a unique skill to give you or your allies a fighting chance.
